Woodward agrees to acquire Illinois radio stations

Woodward Communications, Inc. has agreed to purchase seven seven radio station brands from Neuhoff Media (https://neuhoffmedia.com) in Springfield and Bloomington, Illinois. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Woodward Communications, Inc. is an employee-owned company which owns six radio brands and Insight Publications in Northeastern Wisconsin. The radio brands that serve the Green Bay, Appleton and Oshkosh markets are 105.7 WAPL, 95.9 KISS FM (also simulcast on 92.9 in Oshkosh), RAZOR 94.7 (also simulcast on 104.7 in Oshkosh), AM 1570 The SCORE (also broadcast on 95.3 and 99.1 FM), WHBY 1150 AM (also broadcast on 103.5 and 106.3 FM) and 104.3 the FUSE.

The Neuhoff Media brands align with WCI’s focus on local community media properties in certain market sizes that serve niche and lifestyle audiences.  The group is comprised of approximately 48 employees (24 full time and 24 part time).

The additions in Springfield include country music station 104.5 WFMB, Sports Radio 92.3FM and 1450AM, adult contemporary station 99-7 The Mix, adult hits station 96.7 BOB FM, and Channel 1450, a digital platform covering high school sports. In Bloomington, WCI adds Rock 96.7, adult contemporary NOW 100.7, and BOB FM 97.9.

Pending Federal Communications Commission approval, WCI anticipates officially completing the acquisition in late summer or early fall.
